1990 Peru Field research project in Amazonian Peru on the behavior and ecology of
moustached tamarin monkeys. This
first phase of the research project
involved collecting blood from all
members of 15 tamarin groups in order to
conduct genetic fingerprinting analysis to determine relatedness and individual
genealogies. These data will be used to
determine the importance of kinship in primate social interactions and an
understanding of the evolution of
cooperation and male infant care giving behavior.
